Series 3. Outside Organizational News

The Crescent Players Series 3, Outside Organizational News (1956-2020; 0.1 cubic feet) documents the growth, plays, history, and community outreach of the student-run organization the Crescent Players. Types of materials include: advertisements, articles, correspondence, newspaper clippings, play bills, scripts, writings, and the Laurel 1956 Yearbook. There is a book plate within the yearbook that says the following, "A gift to the Crescent Player Library from Dr. Robert E. Kendall 1978".

The newspaper articles are dated between 1981-2020 and includes The Rimers of Eldritch invitation, a New York Times 1999 newspaper clipping with a scene of a Crescent Player in a scene from “Wit”, and other numerous newspaper clippings. Within this series is an article from the theatre department at SCSU where they address racism in their department in 2020. Also in this series are the social justice awards for 2019 and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival 2020 Merit Awards.
